Amad Qureshi, Vice President, is based in Marathon Capital’s Houston office. He is responsible for supporting the origination and execution of advisory and transaction mandates for Marathon Capital’s Data Center Advisory Practice as well as transaction execution and business development for the Offtake Solutions team.
At Marathon Capital, Amad has been involved in two notable transactions; one of them was a PTC + RECs purchase deal involving Westlake, a large petrochemical conglomerate who was looking to acquire PTCs to offset their taxable income. Amad spearheaded that transaction execution to successful closing with an economically accretive outcome for Westlake. Amad was also involved in advising J-Power on offtake and tax credit transfer transaction for their 400 MW solar project located in ERCOT South, where he successfully executed vPPA with a hyperscaler. Currently, Amad is leading execution efforts for all the data center related mandates that range from powered land sale, M&A, capital raise for powered shell and strategic advisory for large infrastructure companies.
Prior to joining Marathon Capital as an Associate, Amad was an investment banking associate in the Global Energy Group at TD Securities, where he worked on the $1.45bn acquisition of Lotus Midstream by Energy Transfer Partners. Amad worked on valuation analysis for the clients, preparing supporting documentation, and was a junior analyst mentor providing coaching on valuation techniques and pitchbook creation.
Amad earned an MBA from Cornell University and a BBA in Finance from the University of Toronto, both with High Distinction. He is also a CFA® charterholder and holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
