Ammad Faisal, Senior Managing Director, Head of NYC Office and Capital Markets, is based in Marathon Capital’s New York office. He has over 20 years of investment banking and capital markets experience covering the energy and power sector, including financial sponsors, electric and gas utilities, independent power producers, and renewable energy companies.
At Marathon Capital, he focuses on mergers and acquisitions, debt, equity, and tax equity capital raise transactions. Select transactions Ammad has worked on include the advising NextEra Energy on an equity investment from Blackstone, the sale of Distributed Generation solar developer Standard Solar to Brookfield, the structured debt and equity raise for heavy-duty freight electrification company WattEV from Apollo and Vitol, the sale of standalone storage platform East Point Energy to Norwegian company Equinor, the minority equity investment by Manulife in utility-scale solar developer Silicon Ranch, and the sale of a large wind portfolio owned by German Utility RWE to Algonquin Power and Greencoat Capital.
Before joining Marathon Capital, Ammad was Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Global Energy Power Investment Banking Group. He worked on many mergers and acquisitions, including LS Power’s purchase of a large thermal plant portfolio from Dynegy. Before joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Ammad worked in the equity capital markets group at Citi, facilitating the origination and structuring of equity and convertible offerings in the technology sector. He also co-founded a VC-backed consumer technology company, Arccos Golf, that promises to transform the golf industry through big data and patented sensors.
Ammad received a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Middlebury College. He is a CFA® charterholder and holds his Series 24 and 79 licenses.
