Bob Braasch, Chief Compliance Officer, is based in Marathon Capital’s Chicago office. He is responsible for the company’s compliance, regulatory and risk management functions. Bob oversees the company’s interactions with various regulators and interacts with senior management of clients and counterparties.

Before Marathon Capital, Bob had extensive experience in corporate finance, banking, and operations within a financial environment, particularly in risk management, funding, and capital structuring. At a series of financial companies, including LaSalle National Bank, Household Finance Corporation, and several medium-sized companies. He successfully negotiated an initial public offering, domestic and international debt placements, and numerous acquisitions and divestitures. Bob has previously held senior management positions, including Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, and President. His Board service spans private, public, and not-for-profit entities.

Bob is a graduate of DePaul University and holds Series 7, 14, 24, 63, 79, 87, and 99 licenses in the United States; in Canada he holds the Partners’, Directors’, and Senior Officers’ (PDO), and is qualified as a Dealing Representative.
