Gaurav Khanna

Gaurav Khanna, Director, is based in Marathon Capital’s New York office. Over his 10-year career in investment banking, Gaurav has advised on M&A and capital markets across renewables and conventional power for corporates, private equity, and infrastructure funds. His experience in renewables includes utility-scale solar, distributed generation, wind, hydro, waste-to-energy, and renewable natural gas. Gaurav’s recent transactions include advising on a take private of a portfolio of assets including utility-scale solar, distributed solar and wind, and advising a renewable natural gas developer on a $200+ million capital raise.

Prior to joining Marathon Capital, Gaurav was a Director in the Power & Renewables investment banking at Bank of America. In this capacity, he advised GE on the sale of its 1 GW+ renewable portfolio to Harbert Management and Hull Street, advised AES on the sale of its ~1GW generation portfolio to Rockland Capital, and advised PG&E on $5.5 billion debtor-in-possession financing. Before joining Bank of America, he was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank, where, among other transactions, he advised Energy Future Holdings on $9.65 billion debtor-in-possession and exit financing and the Blackstone Group on $685 million acquisition financing for its purchase of a generation portfolio in Texas. Gaurav received his MBA from Georgetown University and holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
