Greg Andiorio, Managing Director, Tax Credit Advisory, is based in Marathon Capital’s Chicago office. He is responsible for advising on tax credit transactions across energy transition technologies, including wind, solar, carbon capture, energy storage, and hydrogen.
Greg’s has advised clients on various noteworthy tax credit transactions at Marathon Capital, including the tax equity financing of a post-combustion carbon capture project, Nestle's utility scale solar tax equity investment plus REC purchase transactions, long-term PTC transfer agreements for TransAlta's Oklahoma wind projects, the tax equity financing for three of Invenergy's utility scale solar projects, the tax equity financing for three of Nautilus Solar Energy’s community solar portfolios, the tax equity financing for two of Competitive Power Ventures’ utility scale solar projects, and many other tax credit transactions for clients including CapturePoint, TC Energy, Northstar Clean Energy, and Innogy US. Greg is also heavily focused on carbon capture projects and advises clients that are capturing and storing CO2 emissions from ethanol plants, natural gas power plants, coal power plants, and other industrial sources on all topics related to the monetization of Section 45Q tax credits.
Before joining Marathon Capital, Greg was a Senior Manager in the Mergers and Acquisitions – Tax practice at KPMG, leading tax structuring, modeling, and due diligence engagements and advising energy clients on tax issues associated with bankruptcy restructurings.
Greg received a BS in Accountancy and an MS in Accountancy with a concentration in Taxation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds 63 and 79 licenses.
