Jason Demark, Managing Director & Head of Equity Capital Markets, is based in Marathon Capital’s New York office.

Prior to Marathon Capital, Jason was a Director and Head of US Equity Capital Markets at MUFG Securities. As the Head of US Equity Capital Markets, he drove the group’s strategy and managed the origination and syndicate functions. He oversaw the origination and execution of IPOs, follow-ons, at-the-market offerings, forward sales, private investments in public equities, and equity-linked offerings. Jason worked across industry sectors focusing on oil & gas, power & unities, energy transition, and technology. While he was at MUFG the firm was a manager on over 375 equity and equity-linked transactions and an agent on over 120 at-the-market filings.

Before MUFG, he was a Director in the equity capital markets group at Lazard responsible for the origination and execution of equity capital markets transactions in the power & utility, energy transition, technology, and consumer sectors. Prior to Lazard Jason was a Vice President in the equity capital markets group at Cowen & Company. At Cowen & Company Jason worked in the equity syndicate, equity origination, and equity-linked origination groups across the consumer, energy transition, health care, and technology sectors.

Jason received an MBA from Emory University Goizueta Business School and a BA in Political Science from Boston College. Jason also studied politics, philosophy, and economics at Harris Manchester College Oxford University. He holds Series 7, 24, 63, 79, and 87 licenses.
