Lauren Samuel, Managing Director, Accounting & Finance, is based in Marathon Capital’s Chicago office. She leads the Accounting & Finance Team and its many accounting and financial reporting initiatives, including accounting and financial reporting preparation, multi-business unit reporting, maintaining a strong internal control environment, budgeting, and business analysis.

Prior to Marathon Capital, Lauren was Vice President, Corporate Controller at Harbor Capital Advisors where she led the corporate accounting and finance function. In this role, she ensured the financial accuracy of the corporate accounting records and financial statements, oversaw the corporate budgeting process and accounts payable function, maintained a strong internal control environment, and developed and automated key financial processes. Lauren was also involved in multiple committees including the Intermediary Oversight Committee and the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee. Prior to Harbor, she was a Senior Associate at CBIZ MHM, LLC.

Lauren earned a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
