Pat Van Grinsven, Director, is based in Marathon Capital's Chicago office. He is responsible for originating and executing M&A and capital raise engagements in the clean energy, sustainable technology, and infrastructure markets.
Pat’s extensive transaction experience at Marathon Capital includes the sale of standalone energy storage developer East Point Energy to Equinor and the sale of Aypa Power (f/k/a NRStor C&I) to Blackstone, as well as advising Eolian on the sale of a 450 MW portfolio of development stage battery storage in WECC, 174 Power Global on the sale of a 1.4 GW portfolio of development-stage solar and battery storage in CAISO, and EDPR on the sale of a 340 MW operating solar portfolio to Eni Plenitude.
Prior to joining Marathon Capital, Pat worked for Delphos International, an emerging markets-focused financial advisory firm in Washington, D.C., where he raised debt and equity capital for clients in sectors including renewable and conventional energy, financial services, and agribusiness.
Pat received a BA in World Politics from Hamilton College and MA in International Relations and International Economics with concentrations in Finance and Energy from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
