Wayne Chomitz

Wayne Chomitz, Director, Tax & Structuring, is based in Marathon Capital’s San Francisco office. He is responsible for executing tax equity and tax credit transfer engagements in the solar, wind, battery storage, and carbon capture sectors and for providing transaction support across various Marathon Capital engagements including M&A and capital raises.

Since joining Marathon Capital in 2020, Wayne advised on a variety of noteworthy transactions, including Nestle’s tax equity investments in 7X’s 250 MW Taygete I Energy solar project and in Enel’s 220 MW Ganado solar plus storage project, placement of the tax equity financing for Doral’s 400 MW Mammoth North solar project, the sale of energy storage developer East Point Energy to Equinor, and placement of the tax equity and project financing for Opdenergy’s first U.S. based projects.

Prior to joining Marathon Capital, Wayne worked for Coronal Energy, LLC, an independent power producer focused on utility-scale solar and storage projects for seven years. He was responsible for managing tax equity, debt, and M&A transactions and oversaw the financial analysis of Coronal’s development projects.

Wayne received his BA in English and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management. He holds his Series 63 and 79 licenses.
