Yin Peng Foo, Director, Risk Advisory, is based in Marathon Capital’s Chicago office. She has over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. Her experience encompasses insurance broking in both retail (direct insurance) and wholesale (reinsurance) in developed and developing markets around the world, having worked closely with clients and insurance and reinsurance companies in the renewable energy and power sectors, infrastructure, construction, real estate, and financial services industries.

Yin Peng commenced her insurance industry career in Chicago and has spent the last 15 years with a major international insurance brokerage and professional services advisory firm in various senior insurance broking and placement roles in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney, Australia before relocating to Chicago to join Marathon Capital in 2022. Her extensive insurance experience includes traditional property and casualty insurance products, specialty insurance products such as renewable energy risk solutions, financial lines, surety, credit, and project finance-related risk solutions for lenders, and a deep understanding of the global insurance marketplace. Her background also includes carrier relationship management, expertise in insurance/reinsurance placement strategy, program design, insurance product development, and innovation, particularly in the structuring of traditional as well as alternative insurance solutions for solar and wind energy projects.

In addition, Yin Peng also has significant experience in the Captive insurance space, having worked with clients to form and develop Captive programs across various Captive domiciles in the US and offshore. Her work in Captive insurance includes designing Captive programs that serve as alternative risk financing vehicles and mechanisms alongside traditional insurance products.

Yin Peng holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
