Marathon Capital has advised Osaka Gas USA Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Osaka Gas Co., Ltd., on the sale of a portfolio of operating community solar projects.

The portfolio is comprised of nearly 40 operating community solar projects across Maine and Illinois, representing approximately 150 MW of total generation capacity with long-term offtake agreements spanning commercial, industrial, and residential customers.

The transaction reflects continued investor demand for operating renewable energy assets with long-term contracted cash flows, operating scale, and exposure to rapidly growing U.S. power markets, as well as the role of contracted clean energy in delivering lower-cost renewable power to end customers.

Following the transaction, the portfolio will be serviced by Virtus Power, a newly established venture by Apollo funds focused on acquiring, owning and operating distributed generation assets across the U.S.

A global financial and strategic advisor focused solely on the clean economy and the energy transition.
